About This Journal
Al-Bahir (ISSN: 2312-5721; E-ISSN: 2313-0083) is a free quarterly refereed scientific journal co-published by the University of Alkafeel and Holy Al-Abbas Shrine (Al-ʿatabaẗ al-ʿabbāsiyyaẗ al-muqaddasaẗ). It focuses on research and studies in engineering and pure sciences and their applications, provided that the submitted papers conform to the recognized scientific research principles. This includes adherence to proper writing methods and research establishment steps, as well as subjecting the research to review by competent reviewers with a solid scientific background in their respective fields. The journal complies with the specifications of refereed scientific journals as approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Republic of Iraq. The journal aims to provide an additional opportunity for contributing to the scientific research movement and paves the way for an effective scientific platform for researchers, scholars, and those interested in research and study methods.
Journal History
Al-Bahir was founded in 2014, and it is a free quarterly refereed scientific journal issued by Holy Al-Abbas Shrine (Al-ʿatabaẗ al-ʿabbāsiyyaẗ al-muqaddasaẗ). The first issue was in 2015, in two languages, Arabic and English. In 2022, the University of Alkafeel became a co-publisher alongside the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, and the journal transitioned to publishing articles exclusively in English. Starting in 2023, the journal transitioned to two volumes per year, with each volume containing two issues, in response to the growing number of submissions.

Frequency: Quarterly
Publication Dates every year: First Volume/Issue 1 (January to March), First Volume/Issue 2 (April to June), Second Volume/Issue 1 (July to September), and Second Volume/Issue 2 (October to December).
Archiving
Al-Bahir is preserved in CLOCKSS and Portico, the two leading preservation archives that guarantee persistent access for the very long term. Articles also receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) from the CrossRef organization to ensure they can always be found.
